Funny Pumpkins

On Friday, we did a really fun art project.  First, we mixed red & yellow paint to make orange and yellow & blue to make green.  Then we painted our own very large pumpkins and a stem.  After they dried, we cut them out, then folded them in half and cut out a mouth.  Next, we glued our pumpkin onto our paper and then cut white teeth and glued them on.  Finally we added eyes!  They turned out super funny and kinda scary! :)

Have you seen these witches?

We had a lot of fun making our witch legs!  We chose which shoes we wanted & cut them out.  Next, we chose our stocking colors and cut them. Then, we made our own skirt.  Finally we glued it all down and added some extras if we wanted- a mouse hole, a spider, and a floor.  They turned out super cute!  We have received lots of compliments on them!!!

Field Trip Video Part 1

I discovered the problem when uploading the video before was that it was too long (15 min.).  So after remaking it with 2 parts, it works!!!!  Please check out the Part 2 of our fun day at the Pumpkin Patch!

Check out our video a few posts down!

What a fine looking (and very grown-up) class I have!  We had fun making a "mustache" video for our classmate and friend Max.  We hope he can join us real soon.  We miss him.  Scroll down and check out our video!

Monarch Butterfly is released!

We enjoyed watching a monarch caterpillar eat leaves, make a chrysalis, and after about a week, emerge as a beautiful monarch butterfly.  We released him today.  It was exciting to see him fly.  There was a lot of gasps and a few squeals as he took his first flight.

Meet Dodger, our class guinea pig.

Great Job on Learning Popcorn Words!

Thank you parents for helping your child learn their popcorn words!  Many are doing Fantastic!  I am really confident that they know the words now that they have to "master" them 3 times for me before they earn a prize!  Its a great idea to have them practice all their popcorn words (from previous lists too) so we can make sure they continue to know them well.  I handed out another new prize today.  Here are the list of prizes that have been awarded so far:  List 1- tootsie "pop", List 2- blow "pop", List 3- confetti "popper", List 4- snack size bag of corn "pops".  Keep up the good work!
